Shell Cordovan is a rare horse leather made from the butt of a horse. It's rare because it has to come from a very specific part of the horse, and as such each horse can only produce enough leather for a few wallets. It also takes up to 6 months to prepare, and is only made in about 10 tanneries around the world.
It's highly coveted because of its unique texture and feel. Shell Cordovan is shiny and polished - but unlike artificial leather polish, the shell cordovan shine is completely natural and comes from its high fat content, and this unique natural shine is beautiful to see in person.
Shell Cordovan is also durable, water-resistant and highly resistant to creases. This means that you will be able to keep your wallet newer for longer, and when it does age, it'll do so with class and grace.
